This week was about producing a mind map for my product. If you don’t know anything about mind mapping, you can learn more here.
I’ve decided to focus on the subject of content with Private Label Rights (PLR). I have created the mind map and sent it over to John for review, but I’m not going to post it here yet, as I don’t want to give all my ideas away publicly until I have fully created and launched the product.
So, depending on when you’re reading this, I either haven’t launched the product yet, or I’ve forgotten to update this post with the map!
John suggested using a free mind mapping software called Freemind to create the mind map with. I had some difficulty at first finding out how to download it (there were a lot of ‘false’ download buttons on the page), but I got there in the end. Then, after going through a few YouTube videos on how to use Freemind, I launched in.
A big failing of the software was that, once you placed an idea somewhere on the map, you couldn’t easily move it somewhere else; this is a problem for a tool where you just want to throw down and organise your ideas quickly, then arrange them better later.
Someone on a forum suggested that Freemind had been overtaken and bettered by Freeplane; so I downloaded that and, guess what? Same problem!
Next step, do my own research on the best free mind mapping software tools – this came up with Coggle, which is a Google app. This time, success! (and very easy to get to grips with too).
As per John’s instructions, I have sent my map to him and I’m looking forward to getting his feedback. What pleases me most is that this is now the furthest I’ve ever got to producing my own information product to sell online.
Onwards and upwards 🙂
