And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

In my last blog about the Partnership to Success Programme, I mentioned that something amazing happened when I started to work on it again. Let me explain.

I started gathering the information I had bought and researched about using PLR (products with Private Label Rights) to make money online; but two things about using it kept bugging me:

  1. You can use it to create information products to sell
  2. You can promote PLR products to your lists of prospects / buyers

So how do I use either of those benefits of PLR to get results for my own product? The first one relies on me creating and promoting a product, and the best way for me to promote a product is through the Partnership to Success Programme; and I don’t have any results yet.

The second one relies on me having a list of prospects or buyers, which I don’t.

I had to find another way, and I didn’t have to look far…

It was as if the universe was tapping me on the shoulder and whispering in my ear “here’s what you need to do”.

First I need to give you some background information; bear with me…

I’ve always been a great believer in lifetime learning and, for some time, it’s been a goal of mine to help others help themselves by telling them about the resources that have helped and inspired me over the years…but it has always been a ‘someday’ goal.

Back in 2010 I signed up for an information product designed to help me put together a website promoting self-help ebooks, audio and video; but I didn’t get around to doing anything with it (and sadly it looks like I’ve now lost access to a lot of it, as it was online and has been taken down).

Then in 2011 I came across a product about how to promote other people’s products for a commission (known as affiliate marketing) by setting up a You Tube channel and website. But I wasn’t ready to invest £197 in a programme (I’ve wasted a LOT more money than that since then), so I didn’t take it any further.

Then in April 2015 I started thinking of a name for a site I could use to talk about self-help stuff (as you can see the idea just wouldn’t leave me alone). After not very long at all I came up with the name “Wisdom Shack” and I registered the domain and the You Tube channel.

In July 2015 I stumbled upon a website offering lifetime access to a suite of over 177 self-help audiobooks and ebooks. At the time I was doing quite a lot of driving and, when I do, I like to listen to stuff that will educate and motivate me. At the regular price of $99 it would have worked out at just 56c per item, which was amazing value; but the seller had a special time limited offer price of $27.95 – that’s less than 16c per item – crazy!

Then, in December 2015, the seller (Jose) started up an affiliate programme; so I invested another $27.95 for the right to promote this amazing deal myself – and guess what? – yep, that’s right, I did nothing with it!

Fast forward to November 2016, I went to download an audiobook from the site for a journey – and the site had GONE.  I was gutted and sent an email to the Jose asking what had happened, but I didn’t get a reply…

Then, 3 months later, I received an email containing links to all of the items I had lost access to. It turned out that Jose had just decided to move on to other things; but it also turned out I wasn’t the only one who desperately missed the website; so in April this year he put it back online, and offered bonus material for anyone willing to make a donation, which I happily did.

To my great delight, I now had another chance to promote this amazing resource as an affiliate – and THIS TIME, I was going to do something with it.

As soon as I made that decision, everything fell into place…

That ‘someday goal’ to help others help themselves by telling them what has helped and inspired me over the years was exactly what I needed to focus on…that’s what the universe has been telling me for YEARS – that this is my personal legend; it’s been constantly gnawing away at me to do something about it and I’ve been mostly ignoring it. I say ‘mostly ignoring’ because:

  • I had already registered a website and YouTube channel for promoting self-help products
  • I had information on how to build a YouTube channel and how to build a website for promoting self-help products
  • I had an affiliate product to promote (and, thanks to John’s course) a way of making the web link look better.

The only thing I wanted to do now was set the website up as a membership site so that, going forward, I could offer even more valuable resources to those people most serious about lifetime learning, who are looking for a more structured, step by step way of doing it and who are wanting to join a community of like-minded people.

And guess where I was able to find that information? John Thornhill’s Partnership to Success Programme!
